April 2021 Toy Hack

Our first toy hack!

College students were paired with high school students from local robotics team Degrees of Freedom. Each pair included someone with experience soldering, who helped those with less experience to practice that skill.

Toys were donated to a local school and an occupational therapist's office.

Due to safety concerns relating to COVID-19, participants wore masks and the event was held in a large, well-ventilated warehouse space. Tables were placed over 6 feet apart. They held hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes, which were used to wipe down tools in between uses. Participants ate snacks outside during a break.
